Another Media Fail: "This Isn't Some D@mn Game!"

John Boehner, political gamer that he is, is crying in his beer over the lack of appreciation for the difficult position he is in. I have great news! Boehner's manufactured crisis can end! All he has to do is put the clean CR up for a vote. If he's right in believing "the people" want deeper cuts, the CR will fail. The CR won't fail and there's the rub.

His faux indignation over a game he started is more theater. It's a case where he acts like he's misunderstood. It's as if he believes if he just speaks his message    More     SLowly       AND        MORE         LOUDLY         the masses in the street will hear him and heed his "message".

Mr. Boehner, we hear you and understand you. We aren't buying it. The snoozer newsers are buying it, but we aren't. You got your deal. You aren't honoring it by putting it up for a vote.

The Continuing Resolution is $217 billion less than the budget President Obama proposed.

The Continuing Resolution is $80 billion less than the number derived by bipartisan agreement that raised the Debt Ceiling in 2011.

The Continuing Resolution is $72 Billion less than the Senate's proposed 2014 budget.

The Senate's Continuing Resolution, the Senate's proposal is a compromise. A compromise negotiated by Senate GOP that Boehner will not honor. A deal the GOP broke. A deal the GOP is reneging. An action that screams the GOP doesn't negotiate in good faith. Is CNN, ABC, CBS or (heavens!) FOX covering the fact the GOP is not honoring the deal they negotiated? H. E. Double Hockey Sticks No!

The CR is a compromise that is only $19 billion above Paul Ryan's budget that was rejected by voter's in 2012. Has any of the network news or cable news outlets put out the CR is that close to the Ryan budget? Oh, Hell to the No! That would make the CR appear to be all too reasonable. That would be bad for drama. Bad for ratings. It's better to cover the drama of a closed government.

Boehner knows if a clean bill makes it to the floor it will pass. So does the media. If the media points out what a horse's arse Boehner et al is, they will lose access to a whole menagerie of horse's arses and then their news reporting will become excruciatingly boring. It's better for ratings to preserve the status quo of the misleading (faux) CR game.

We know who's playing the games here.
