Just when I thought this 2016 campaign couldn’t get anymore disgusting. I ran across this meme which was removed from Reddit only to show up on Tumblr and elsewhere. On the surface it looks legit. It’s got the right look. It looks like a fun thing to do with the kids, but it’s really a recipe for how to create a chlorine gas explosion that will injure, burn and possibly kill anyone who creates this chlorine gas explosion. Luckily, many are getting the word out that this is a recipe for a chaotic disaster. Who created this meme is still unknown, but the danger of it needs to be known.
The real danger is that it can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute to explode, dependent upon multiple factors (how fine the chlorine tablets are ground, how rigorous the mixture is shook, etc.) . This explosion happens around 1:42.
I could pick this meme apart. Yes, kids do this and try to do it safely, but they know in advance of the danger they face. Yes, this is a known recipe and people recognize it and may give it a pass. Yes, the Walmart references are a tell the maker doesn’t understand those who feel the Bern. Yes, it’s focused on Sanders supporters who are reputed to have greater numbers of people who attained higher education; therefore, less chance of people likely to create this dangerous concoction (not a good gamble IMO). But, there is the chance, and a good one at that, someone will fall for this dangerous hoax. Others might say, but no one here at Dkos would EVER say or do such a thing….. I certainly hope not, but with the new trolls of every persuasion coming to Dkos these days, this needs to be said.

But, that’s what this diary is really about. People’s opinions that if you don’t support my selected candidate you must be stupid, a moron or someone who “deserves” bad things to happen to them like serious injury or death.
